Remodel Brings Light to This Residence
Transformation Brightens and Opens HomeLearn what you need to know before starting your construction project.
Remodeling for Family’s Changing Needs
The owners of this residence came to see Graham Builders because they needed more space for visiting guests of all physical abilities and to update an aging kitchen. They became familiar with our design+build firm through our monthly seminar. The seminar enlightened them on the ins and outs of construction, and helped to prepare them for what lay ahead.
The couple envisioned a remodel that would allow flexible living space that could be used for visiting guests. An accessible bathroom for aging outer island parents was a must and would also prepare the home for their later needs. They also hoped for a kitchen transformation that would allow more light, space and openness.
Their visions were achieved with this Graham Builders remodel. Light is able to pour into the living spaces through the removal of walls and addition of sliding doors. Original cabinetry and plumbing in the kitchen were replaced and an island was added. The back bedroom was transformed into a flex family-guest room. The newly added accessible bath is remarkable with a zero-step shower and roomy vanity area.
